By Cowbridge shops bring high fashion to the Vale
When it comes to fashion, Cowbridge has spent more than 30 years building its reputation for smart, chic clothing for women of all ages.
Retailers who have been prepared to travel and meet promising designers have backed their judgement and brought new fashion ideas back, and it is fair to say that a number of really big names were talent spotted years ago, and made their first Welsh appearance in Cowbridge. Now, the designer labels are too numerous to mention, and it was only a matter of time before the town acknowledged its growing reputation by launching its own fashion week. The week has been supported by retailers all around the town, and one event which illustrates that commitment is on March 27 at the Arboreal restaurant in Eastgate, where three prominent retailers will be putting on a charity catwalk show in aid of Ty Hapus, the Barry-based charity that is the chosen beneficiary of fashion week. TV presenter Sara Elgan will be compering, as models show off some of the fashions available from Pebble, E91, and L’Armoire.
