What’s happening at Cowbridge May Fair?

With Cowbridge gearing itself up for the May Fair, on the Bear Field, May 1, the organisers, Cowbridge and Llantwit Major Lions Club, have issued an updated running order for events during the day.

The full stage programme at the time of going to press is:

• 10am – 10.20 – Llantwit Ukuladies and Ukuladdies.

• 10.35am – 10.55 – Y Bont Faen School Choir.

• 11am – official opening.

• 11.15 – 11.45 – Patrick Sheppard, Christie Boxall and Lowri Morgan.

• 12 noon – 12.30 – Rock Choir.

• 12.45pm – 1.15– Stagecoach.

• 1.30pm – 2pm – Gareth and Caitlin.

• 2.15 – 3pm – Total Chaos (juniors and seniors).

• 3pm – 4pm – Band setting up/children’s races

• 4pm – end – Rock ‘n’ Soul.


• Maypole dances will be taking place all day.

• Bonny baby competition at 2pm.

• Tug of War competition at 2pm.

• Children’s fun races from 3pm.

• The new Cowbridge bull run at 4pm.


• All day children’s soft play and face painting.


A total of 23 stalls will be offering a wide variety of items, from home-made pickles to garden furniture, from tea and cakes to jewellery, and from organic veg to craft beers!

There will be more stalls, operated by local community groups, plus food and refreshment areas, run by local businesses and clubs.
